The Hintertux Glacier
The Hintertux Glacier is Austria’s only all-year-round ski region and offers winter sports enthusiasts 365 days of perfectly prepared descents with reliable snow conditions as well as the fascinating experience of nature at up to 3,250 m. On the Hintertux Glacier, beginners, experienced skiers and snowboarders can enjoy a wide variety of experiences on more than 60 kilometres of pistes at all levels of difficulty. The dreamlike freeride slopes in the Lärmstange area are an attraction for deep snow fans. Snowboarders and free skiers appreciate the all-year-round freestyle possibilities in the Betterpark Hintertux at 3,200 m or in the Familypark Hintertux, which caters for the needs of beginners.
Not only a paradise for skiers – an ascent is also worthwhile for those on foot. Can also be well combined with the Spannagel caves.
Nature's Ice Palace
The ice journey begins only 200 m away from the highest point of the Hintertux Glacier. A secure path leads from the viewing platform at the Frozen Wall (3,250 m), with one of the most beautiful panoramic views over the mountains of the Zillertal, to the Palace Gateway. The ice cave is open all year round and can be visited in any weather. A visit to Nature Ice Palace can also be very easily combined with a ski day on the Hintertux Glacier or with a trip to see the views from the Panorama Terrace.
